It was a very positive stay in Federico's apartment, which is clean and comfortable and easy to reach by subway in less than 10 min from Stockholm Centralen. Federico organized everything very well and we can highly recommend his accomodation. Thanks again for everything Federico.

Nettes, einfach ausgestattetes Apartment mit Balkon im 5.Stock eines Wohnblocks.
Sehr gute Anbindung an die Innenstadt (5 Stationen bis zum Hauptbahnhof).
U-Bahn und Supermarkt liegen ca. 500 Meter von der Wohnung entfernt.
Die Umgebung entspricht der eines normalen Arbeiterviertels.
Federico ist ein netter, zuverlässiger Vermieter, der gut Englisch spricht undeinem immer zur Verfügung steht.
Für einen relativ preisbewussten Stockholm-Urlaub ideal.
Federico received us well. The appartement was clean, very calm and comfort : exactly as explained in the description. The appartement is in good place near of the metro (400 m) to go to stockholm (which is in few minutes). There is a supermarket and restaurants in the same place that the metro. I recommand this appartement for a family and everyone.
Het is een prettig licht appartement. Afgezien van een magnetron is het van alle gemakken voorzien. De kamers zijn ruim in omvang. Op het balkon staat een lekkere loungestoel.
Het is een jaren 70 flat, maar daar merk je in het appartement niets van. Het ligt op een paar minuten lopen van het metrostation (Huvudsta), hier is ook een supermarkt aanwezig en het ligt dicht bij een mooi wandelpad langs een water met prachtig uitzicht. Hier kun je ook zwemmen.
Parkeren kost 8 euro per dag. Solna is een stad op zichzelf (ingekapseld door Stockholm). In Stockholm zelf is parkeren goedkoper. Je kunt bij de automaat betalen met je creditcard. Wel elke dag opnieuw betalen. Als je meer dan 4 dagen verblijft en het openbaar vervoer gaat gebruiken, kun je het best een 7 daagse ticket nemen.
Frederico is vriendelijk en easy going. Communicatie verliep zonder problemen.
Very nice and friendly hosts. The apartment ist very large and very nice. The location is perfect. Subway and shopping center are very close. Higly reommended. I was very pleased.
Federico is a great host, even though he was understandably worried were we able to CheckIn and Out without any problems. Great flat and nice surroundings. It was a great stay thanks to federico
Trying to stay objective I will just describe my experience.
The apartment is OK (as described). I can accommodate up to 4 people (wide bed for 2 in one bedroom, 1-person bed in other bedroom, 1-person bed in the living room behind the curtain), though 4-people taking shower in the morning might delay getting out. Located 5 minutes walk from metro station and 5 stops from the T-Central (central station in Stockholm) makes it easy to commute.
The rest was not that pleasant.
As Federico was planning to be out of town that was creating certain challenges that were not addressed efficiently.
From the very beginning our communication was sort of strange.
The apartment rental required security deposit of 150 euros or dollars.
The towels and bedding were to be rented for 200 SEK per set.
Federico suggested that when checking out we just drop the keys through the mail slot in the entrance door. When I asked how in that scenario the security deposit is supposed to be returned (what is his standard algorithm) he did not answer and just said that somebody will be meeting us at the apartment for checkout.
Initially we were speaking about checking out at 15:30 (giving us enough time to catch our flight) but in the last email before our arrival Federico suggested that we check out at 13:00 (which sort of inconvenient as that breaks the day, not allowing enough time to tour the city in the morning, and not allowing to do anything after checkout as well). We decided to discuss the checkout time with Federico's representative when getting the keys from her.
When we arrived at the apartment Federico's representative was there. Unfortunately she spoke no English (only Spanish and probably Swedish), so we had to communicate through her daughter over the phone. The representative gave us the keys, collected the linen rental money and the deposit. It took us some time to get a written receipt for the deposit from her (possibly because we had to communicate through her daughter) but finally everything was sorted out.
We asked the representative if she can check us out at 15:30, and she has agreed.
She showed us where the towels/bedding were located and left.
When we tried to put the bedding on the beds we found out that nothing fits the big bed at all, everything is too small. We called the representative's daughter, but she told us that she does not know the apartment well and that we should call Federico. We tried to contact Federico over the phone, but he would not answer. So we did not know what to do and asked WIMDU what should be our actions. They told us that they are blocking the payment but did not give any advice other than to try contacting Federico yet again. We tried, but he still would not answer. Accidentally we saw some more bedding in the open wall cabinet. We checked it out and found some that would fit the big bed. We called the representative's daughter and asked if we can take it. She answered that we should.
That exercise took us quite some time (which was taken from seeing the city).
Later on we received a call from Federico, who was apologizing for the inconvenience and approving us using that bedding. So when WIMDU representative emailed us asking about the status of the case we answered that everything was resolved, and WIMDU took the block off the payment..
During that call Federico insisted that we check out at 13:00, not at 15:30. As he is the owner, and we understand that that is a private apartment, not a hotel we told him that we will definitely honor his request.
On our last morning we cleaned the apartment (vacuumed all the floors, washed all the sinks and toilet, washed all the dishes, took out tash) and were waiting to get out as soon as the representative arrives at 13:00 (still hoping to put the bags into the storage at the central station and to do some site-seeing before departure).
The representative did not arrive at 13:00. At 13:30 we started to worry and called the representative's daughter just to find out that Federico has never informed his representative that he insisted on checking out at 13:00, and that the representative was planning to come at 15:30. We reported the situation to WIMDU and were told that the payment will be blocked yet again (we did not ask for that, but they told us that those are the rules).
After speaking with representative's daughter I received a call from Federico who accused me with being rude to the representative's daughter (which was a complete lie as I had two witnesses that have heard our conversation). After my suggestion to call the police all the accusations stopped immediately and Federico started apologizing for inconvenience and miscommunication on his part.
After several conversations with Federico and representative's daughter we found out that the representative will be coming soon. We told Federico that our day is ruined because of that. He responded that he apologizes and that as we are not happy with the situation he would refund us. We did not discuss any details of that refund at that moment (as he suggested the refund himself we expected him to work out the details himself). Federico also asked us if we want the bedding/towels rental money back, but we told him that as we used the bedding and towels we do not feel that he needs to return it (though the price 200 SEK=24 USD is sort of expensive for rental as it allows to buy the whole set in US).
The representative showed up at around 15:00 and started to thoroughly check up the apartment. She even checked if the keys that we are giving back to her really work with the lock. It was a very strange experience. She was taking out the deposit out of her purse several times but not giving it back to us but putting it back into the purse. Finally we managed to get the deposit back and left. At that time we did not have any other option but to head to the airport.
After we came back home we waited for a while and then asked Federico what refund he had in mind. He suggested that we deal through WIMDU. WIMDU representative explained that it is between us and Federico.
As soon as Federico learnt about that he stopped answering our emails.
This is just plain description what my experience was and the basis for my rating. It's up to you to decide to what to do with that description.
L'expérience a été malheureusement plus que désastreuse. L'hôte a été complètement irrespectueux, nous avons été très mal accueillis, l'appartement sentait une forte odeur de pieds dès notre arrivée. Sans parler de la surprise juste avant le départ de devoir régler 100€ rien que pour avoir des draps.... Un appartement loin de tout en plus éloigné du centre. Rapport qualité-prix assez scandaleux... Je recommande vivement à Wimdu de cesser de travailler avec de telles personnes...
